Jam #11 Review
The talent that is displayed by this community and the willingness and ability to stand in for one another when needed always amazes me. It’s one thing to prepare for two songs for a week or two and be ready to go. It’s another to take on a song cold at the last minute, because a spot opened up. That is what impresses me the most. I have always believed in our musicians to be prepared and ready to take on a song, unrehearsed, in front of a live audience with other band members they may have never met. The music is the common language that binds us.
On a night when our house drummer was out of town, 7 drummers stepped up to fill in. This show doesn’t go on without all of you willing it to be so. The All-Stars are a great group of humans. I love the support I see and hear for one another. Rufus bravely got up solo and played guitar and sang Glycerine for the first time on stage to a well-received ovation. Now I hear that he and Randall are forming a band. I can’t wait to get them in on a showcase spot! A few of our regulars brought their band in for the showcase slot at halftime and crushed it! Thanks, Halfway There.
Seven new All-Stars were born last night. Thanks to Jeff Dare, Aaron Cole, Kacie Beatch, Cassandra Daher, Kelly Ennis, James Conoryea, and Jimmy Love for joining us. I hope to see you all again soon.
Thanks to all for spreading the word about this jam on Facebook and by word of mouth. You are the engine that makes this thing go and grow. Keep on rockin’!
